My approach to garden & planting design takes inspiration from the landscape in which the property is located and from its history. Sometimes a link with an important discovery triggers a series of emotions that generate a planting response.

Art has a heavy influence in my designs, particularly in the form of sculptures. 'Illusion' is a design inspired by the work of Andy Goldsworthy 'Storm King Wall', an installation at Storm King Art Centre -New York.

'Waterways' is a design for an 11 acre garden in Suffolk.

'Embraced by Yew' is a .5 acre area, part of a large country private estate.

There is also a planting design for a roof garden, 'On the roof' and a border in a well-established and 'busy' garden in Suffolk. '

'Red Kite' explores the combination of traditional materials and ultra-modern technology for a sloping back garden in the Chilterns.

'Cut flowers'  is a gallery of loose country floral arrangements, whereas 'Sketchbook'  contains images of ideas that might or might not have yet seen the light...
